Shanna Ratner and Barbara Wyckoff were invited by ActionAid to co-facilitate a five day workshop in Nepal. The participants included partners and ActionAid staff from India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan and Senegal together with two women community representatives from Women Collectives in Nepal.  Shanna and Barbara oriented the participants on WealthWorks concepts like understanding market demands, consumer preferences and developing value chains which are sustainable using seven forms of the wealth, while ActionAid facilitators brought in major pillars of human rights-based approaches to development, including women’s rights, power analysis, participatory and reflection action approaches. The result is a new Gender Sensitive Framework for Access to Market and Value Chains that ActionAid hopes to use in several countries within the next year. Yellow Wood is providing ongoing input to core ActionAid staff as they seek to support implementation.
